In the entire context of what is happening in Iran and in the region, no matter how we look at it, for us as Europeans it is very important where Europe is positioned in this scenario and whether Europe, without having written the scenario, does not bear very serious consequences from what is happening. European countries, by virtue of their membership in NATO, have commitments to American military instruments. Even without participating directly – through declarations of governments or through decisions that prohibit the use of their bases – Europe is practically participating in everything that is happening. He announced this to Lili Marinkova in the “FACT“ studio and in the program “Conversation“ Stefan Yanev, leader of the Bulgarian Rise party.
“Purely logically, and perhaps also socially, different scenarios are possible. Turkey is not isolated from this whole conflict either. Politically, it speaks of non-interference and of preventing NATO from taking action. The rhetoric may not be that important, but it is obvious that the issue is related to NATO forces and the role of the army. Turkey can hardly stay completely aloof from the processes. Therefore, all these movements and reactions must be carefully monitored. Ultimately, for European citizens, the most important thing is the consequences for Europe“, the guest added.
“There is good news that a missile was shot down, but this is entirely the work of the Turkish army, although the country, as I have already said, does not interfere in the conflict. In my opinion, the reaction was precisely that of the Turkish army and they reacted adequately. However, as I said, Turkey has declared non-interference in the conflict between Iran, Israel and the US. In the conflict in Iran itself, it is still not entirely clear what the ultimate goal is – whether it is about regime change in Iran, sabotaging its nuclear program or achieving some kind of settlement of the situation, which would allow Israel to dominate the region“, Stefan Yanev also said.
