Such things were not planned when the road infrastructure was built in the capital. “There is also an idea to stop traffic in the center of Sofia completely. The people who made these changes, they are theorists. Yes, their ideas may sound very good on paper - we will make the center of Sofia pedestrian, more bicycles, but there is a contradiction between living in a beautiful and pleasing to the eye city and between convenience. After all, driving in the city is also a convenience. I think there should be a more balanced approach. We have an infrastructure that may not exclude anyone from the traffic“, added the municipal councilor.

“I have traveled around Europe and the cities they give as examples. But there, the movement was made that way already at the level of an infrastructure project, and it was initially conceived with bike lanes, with traffic lights for cyclists. We don't have that here. Another problem is that these people who made these changes, they are not drivers. Some of the people who are experts who work in the Transport Commission in the Metropolitan City Council in the municipality, who want to impose these changes, do not drive, the guest explained.
