The box itself “I do not support anyone” it was created not to punish anyone because there are many other options to invalidate the ballot, but to be an option. This box was created in the second version of the Electoral Code of 2016, when compulsory voting was introduced. At the time, this box was considered to allow people who did not wish to elect someone to vote ``nobody''. Now there is no more compulsory voting, and it was clear that it was going to happen, so this square is some kind of invention of a person who has passed the election systems and left. Such, unfortunately, are the majority of politicians in Bulgaria. This is what he announced to Lili Marinkova in the "FACTS" studio. and the show “Conversation“ Prof. Krasimir Kalinov – mathematician and sociologist.
“At the moment, this square has been completely emptied of content. Political parties used it at the time to redistribute subsidies based on the people who checked that box. There was a court case afterwards and many parties were ordered to pay back money. This has already been canceled because it is not an actual vote for a party to use the state's money. The square makes sense only to calculate the activity. From there on, the damage it does is many times greater. Those voices of people who crossed the box go into oblivion. If someone thinks that with my vote “I am not supporting anyone” protested against someone - he lied to himself a lot. The square is currently inconvenient for people applying as independents because it is included in the activity, and a second time is included to calculate the quota for independent candidates. It is being removed and now the parties calculate their quota on the basis without this box, but only on the basis of their own actual votes. So this box “I do not support anyone” is pointless, it is harmful. Politicians did not want to remove it, but apparently they have reasons for doing so. You have to ask them“, added the guest.
