Putin's Voice on Ukrainian Threats to Strike Moscow: It's Better Not to Even Talk About It! - 1

The Kremlin on Sunday played down statements by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who warned that Russian leaders should "know where the bomb shelters are". According to Moscow, Ukraine is losing the war and its negotiating position is deteriorating with each passing day,"Reuters" quoted him as saying.

When asked whether Russian President Vladimir Putin's invitation to US leader Donald Trump to visit Moscow remains valid, Peskov said:

"The invitation remains valid. Putin is ready and would be happy to meet with President Trump. From there, everything depends on Trump's decision." In August, after talks with Trump in Anchorage, Alaska, Putin suggested that their next meeting could take place in Moscow. The US president then indicated that this was possible, although he acknowledged that such a step would be sharply criticized. In an interview with Axios, Zelensky suggested that the centers of Russian power, including the Kremlin, could be potential targets. "Zelensky is trying to demonstrate to the Europeans, who now play the role of his sponsors, that he is a brave soldier. Meanwhile, the situation on the front shows the opposite," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told state television. "With each passing day, the situation for Ukraine is inexorably worsening. And every day, Ukraine's negotiating position is inexorably deteriorating."

According to the pro-Ukrainian project DeepState, Russia currently controls 114,918 sq. km (about 19% of Ukraine's territory) and has seized 4,729 sq. km over the past year.

Asked by TV correspondent Pavel Zarubin how the Kremlin would react to an attack on the center of Russian power, Peskov replied: "It's better not to even talk about it."

It is recalled that in May 2023, Moscow accused Ukraine of an attempted drone attack on the Kremlin when President Vladimir Putin was not in the building.
