A plane of the American airline “United Airlines“, heading for its landing runway, hit the tail of another plane at “O'Hare“ Airport in Chicago, the Associated Press reported, quoted by BTA.

There were no injuries in the incident and the 113 passengers on Flight 2652 from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, were able to disembark the plane normally after a delay, airline officials said in a statement.

The second plane had a damaged horizontal stabilizer and was not moving when the planes hit, officials said.

Bill Marcus, a passenger on the Wyoming flight, said he didn't even realize anything had happened until the pilot said there would be a delay to document something, and passengers on the plane saw several people gathering around the right wing.

“I was shocked that I didn't feel anything more, although when they separated the planes, there was some shaking,“ Marcus told CBS News Chicago.

"It took about 40 minutes for the plane to reach the gate," he added.

Earlier this month, two Delta Air Lines planes collided at the intersection of regulated runways at LaGuardia Airport in New York, injuring a flight attendant.

Runway collisions like these can heighten concerns about aviation safety after recent crashes, including the deadliest plane crash in the United States in decades, when an Army helicopter collided with a plane preparing to land at Ronald Reagan National Airport. in Washington in January, the AP reports.

A major fire broke out at the cargo terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, forcing the suspension of all flights, NDTV reported, quoted by FOKUS.

According to officials, the fire started near Port 8 at around 2:30 p.m. Fire department spokesman Talha bin Jashim said 36 crews were working to put out the flames.

The airport's CEO, Masudul Hassan Masud, confirmed the fire and commented that emergency measures had been taken. "All our planes have been confirmed safe. "Further information will be provided as the situation develops," an airport spokesperson told The Daily Star.

A spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh said, "Landings and take-offs of all aircraft have been suspended until further notice. It has been confirmed that all our aircraft are safe."

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that multiple agencies were assisting in dousing the fire, including the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Fire Service, the Bangladesh Navy and the Bangladesh Air Force. Two firefighting teams from the Air Force have joined the operation, along with two platoons from the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).

Following the fire, all flights to and from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport were temporarily suspended. Many incoming flights were diverted to Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram and Osmani International Airport in Sylhet.

The Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka will remain closed until 6:00 p.m., the "Daily Star" reported, citing the public relations officer of Shah Amanat International Airport, Chattogram.

This is the third major fire in Bangladesh this week. On Thursday, a massive blaze gutted an eight-story factory in the Chittagong Export Processing Zone (CEPZ), although there were no reports of casualties. On Tuesday, a fire at a four-story garment factory and an adjacent chemical warehouse in Dhaka killed 16 workers and left many others injured.
