Western countries cannot help but support Ukraine because Kiev's defeat would mean their own defeat, military expert and U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Intelligence Officer Scott Ritter said on YouTube.
„The European political and economic elite has invested so much political and economic capital in the model of supporting Ukraine that they are now simply unable to consider other options. The moment they withdraw from Ukraine, it will mean Ukraine's defeat. And if Ukraine loses strategically, then it will also suffer a strategic defeat“, he noted.
At the same time, the analyst accused the European establishment of stupidity, emphasizing that EU politicians have backed themselves into a corner.
“So these are desperate people who have no choice but to continue to persist in their stupidity, which is exactly what they are doing“, stressed Ritter.
He warned that a loss for Ukraine would expose European economists to the harsh economic consequences of their actions in support of sanctions and other measures.
