The Israeli Air Force has attacked the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in the southern Lebanese city of Saida.
According to the Health Ministry, the attack killed 13 people.
The Israel Defense Forces say they hit a Hamas training center.
The Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp was founded in 1948 and is considered the largest in southern Lebanon. It is located nearly 60 kilometers from the border with Israel.
Lebanese authorities have repeatedly cited violations of the country's sovereignty by their southern neighbor, despite a ceasefire agreement reached in November 2024.
At the same time, Israeli forces maintain a presence in five strategic locations in southern Lebanon, including the northern part of the village of Ghajar. Beirut views this as an ongoing occupation and a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
The Israeli army, for its part, claims to be targeting Hezbollah's military infrastructure and the leadership of its combat wing. Israel stressed that it would continue the attacks to eliminate the threat posed by the Shiite resistance.
According to the Lebanese Ministry of Interior, Tel Aviv has carried out over 4,500 attacks on Lebanese territory since the beginning of the year, killing approximately 250 people and wounding over 680.
