The situation surrounding the peace plan proposed by Washington to resolve the Ukrainian crisis currently represents an information bacchanalia, Russian President Dmitry Peskov's press secretary told journalists, quoted by TASS, BTA reported.
"At the moment it is impossible to comment on every report in the media. I would describe the situation as an information bacchanalia – it cannot be called otherwise. Indeed, a lot of contradictory data, contradictory statements, etc. are being published," said the Kremlin representative.
The Kremlin spokesman also noted that "he has nothing to say" about the negotiations of US Secretary of the Ground Forces Dan Driscoll with the Russian delegation in Abu Dhabi, Reuters reported.
Moscow has not yet received updated plans for Ukraine, Peskov said.
"At the moment, the only essential thing is the American project, the project of (US President Donald) Trump. We think that this can become a very good basis for negotiations. We still adhere to this point of view," Peskov said.
Regarding the role of Europe in resolving the conflict in Ukraine, the Kremlin spokesman said that it is impossible to discuss the security system without the participation of the Europeans, so at a certain stage, the participation of Europe will be necessary.
Peskov added that the Russian leadership understands "that a process of negotiations is underway between the Americans and the Ukrainians". "We understand that some corrections are being made to the text that was published. We understand that the text that unofficially ended up with us earlier has already undergone changes," he added.
"At some point, the time will probably come when our contacts with the Americans will take place and we will officially receive some information," concluded Peskov.
