Negotiators between the US and Ukraine have "improved" the framework peace agreement developed in Geneva during their latest talks in Florida, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday, quoted by „Reuters“, reports News.bg.

He stressed that Kiev expects more active participation of its European allies in the process.

Ukraine is under increasing pressure within the framework of US-backed initiatives to end the war with Russia. Zelensky's government is trying to defend its positions after Washington presented a plan last month that approves most of Moscow's main demands.

Ukrainian and American representatives discussed the proposals of The US held a new round of talks in Florida more than a week ago in Geneva, and on Sunday they held a new round of talks in Florida.

“The work was based on the Geneva Document, and this document was improved“, Zelensky wrote on the social network X.

“Our diplomats are actively working with all partners to ensure that European countries and other participants in the Coalition of the Willing will meaningfully participate in the development of solutions“, he added.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin is due to meet in the Kremlin today with US special envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump's son-in-law – Jared Kushner.

Zelensky said he had ordered the Ukrainian negotiating team to continue working “as constructively as possible“.

“Ukraine takes all diplomatic efforts with extreme seriousness – we are committed with the achievement of real peace and guaranteed security. This is the level of commitment that should be required from the Russian side as well“, the Ukrainian president stressed.
