Israel confirms identity of remains handed over by Hamas - 1

Israeli authorities announced that the remains handed over yesterday by the radical Palestinian group “Hamas“ have been identified as those of Thai farm worker Sutisak Rintalak. The information was confirmed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

At the same time, the body of Israeli police officer Ran Gwilyi is still in the Gaza Strip. He remains the last hostage – alive or dead – which is about to be returned to Israel.

As Reuters notes, the handover of all the bodies of prisoners by “Hamas“ would fulfill a key condition of the first stage of US President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023.

The military conflict erupted after a large-scale cross-border attack by Palestinian Islamists against Israel. According to Israeli figures, around 1,200 people were killed and 251 were abducted and taken to the Gaza Strip.

According to the Health Ministry, under the control of “Hamas“, the subsequent Israeli military operation led to the deaths of over 69,000 Palestinians.

The body of Sutisak Rintalak was taken out of Gaza by Red Cross representatives and handed over to the Israeli army for identification at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine. The 42-year-old man died during the “Hamas“ attack on October 7 in Kibbutz Beeri in southern Israel.

According to the agreement of October 10 this year, the Islamist movement released the last 20 living hostages, including Bulgarian citizen Matan Angrest, and handed over 27 bodies of dead prisoners. In exchange, Israel released about 2,000 Palestinians held in prisons and detention centers.

Meanwhile, the Civil Defense in Gaza, which is under the control of “Hamas“, announced that five Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes in the enclave yesterday, DPA reported.
