Hawaii's Kilauea volcano has erupted for the 38th time, releasing a fountain of lava approximately 370 meters high, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported.
According to the USGS, the eruption began at around 8:45 a.m. local time.
It is noted that all three craters of the volcano are currently producing fountains, which is an “extremely rare occurrence“.
The fountains in the south crater are approximately 370 meters high, while those in the north crater have fallen well below their maximum height of 150 meters, according to a publication on the US Geological Survey website service.
Kilauea is one of the largest and most active volcanoes in the Hawaiian Islands. The alert level for the volcano currently remains “caution/orange“.
