Seven Turkish police officers were injured in a clash with suspected "Islamic State" militants in the province of Yalova in northwestern Turkey, "Reuters" reports.
Police teams launched an operation against a house where militants are believed to be hiding near the city of Yalova, on the coast of the Sea of Marmara, south of Istanbul.
The injured police officers are not reported to be in serious condition.
The suspects opened fire on the police as the operation began. Special police forces have been sent to the area from Bursa province to provide support.
Last week, Turkish police detained 115 suspected members of the "Islamic State" group, believed to have planned attacks during the country's Christmas and New Year celebrations.
At the time, the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office said the militants had been planning attacks specifically against non-Muslims.
Almost a decade ago, the jihadist group was blamed for a series of attacks on civilian targets in Turkey, including a gun attack on an Istanbul nightclub and the city's main airport that killed dozens of people.
