Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that a new round of trilateral talks to end the war in Ukraine is planned for next week after consultations with American representatives in Geneva this week, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.

"There are no significant changes in the positions of the Kiev regime so far," Peskov said.

Ukraine earlier said that the negotiations would continue in early March in Abu Dhabi.

Chief Ukrainian negotiator Rustem Umerov met yesterday in Geneva with White House special envoy Steve Witkoff. "We are working on finalizing the security parameters, economic solutions and coordination of positions that will form the basis for future agreements," Umerov wrote on "Telegram".

Russian President Vladimir Putin's special representative for economic cooperation with other countries, Kirill Dmitriev, also met in Geneva with Witkoff and President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. According to Peskov, their conversation focused on future economic relations between Russia and the United States.

Dmitriev informed President Putin about the meetings with American representatives. The Kremlin spokesman noted that if any results are achieved, the public will be informed about them.

Meanwhile, TASS reported that EU authorities have formed an alliance to create obstacles to Dmitriev's plane returning to Moscow.

"The plane (Dmitriev) was supposed to take off from Geneva today, but there were problems with permission to fly through the EU. The Europeans are delaying the process," a representative of the Russian aviation services told TASS. The flight will most likely be postponed until tomorrow, the Russian news agency added.

EU sanctions and the closure of European airspace to Russian planes mean that flights like Dmitriev's have to be negotiated directly. Russian authorities often complain about obstacles and prefer Abu Dhabi as a meeting place, DPA noted.
