The United States is considering reducing its military efforts in the Middle East, US President Donald Trump announced.

“We are getting very close to achieving our goals, while at the same time considering reducing the large-scale military effort in the Middle East“, he wrote on the social media platform TruthSocial.

And he stated that his country is not obligated to guarantee the security of the Strait of Hormuz.

“The Strait of Hormuz should be guarded and patrolled, if necessary, by other countries that use it – The United States does not do it!“, the American leader added.

However, he said, Washington is ready to cooperate on this issue if requested.

Tehran has no intention of agreeing to a ceasefire with the United States and Israel, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in an interview with the Kyodo news agency.

“We will not accept a ceasefire. We want a complete, comprehensive and lasting end to the war,“ he said.

According to him, Tehran believes it is necessary to achieve a final settlement of the conflict, not a temporary cessation of hostilities.
