US President Donald Trump said he considers himself a peacemaker and would like to go down in history as one.
“I've decided eight wars and I would like to go down in history as a great peacemaker because I truly believe that I am“, he said at an investment forum in Miami.
He admitted that his current policy does not look like peacemaking. “It doesn't feel that way right now, but I think I am a peacemaker“, he said.
NATO made a mistake by not supporting the US in the military operation against Iran. Washington should reconsider its level of support for the North Atlantic Alliance, Trump said.
“I think it was a tremendous mistake that NATO was just not there“, he said.
“We spend hundreds of billions of dollars to defend them, and we've always been there, but now, based on their actions, I don't think we should.“
Trump said that, unlike his predecessor Joe Biden, he would not provide assistance to the Kiev authorities in the conflict in Ukraine.
“Ukraine is not our war, but we helped them. I would not have helped them if I were president when they started. This war should never have happened, but our president at the time was a very low IQ man“, he said.
