Three people died in the April 10 explosion in the Russian city of Vladikavkaz, after another victim died in hospital from burns, Sergei Menyailo, the head of the region, reported on his Telegram channel.
.“Unfortunately, another victim of the emergency situation in Vladikavkaz died“, Menyailo wrote.
The head of the republic said that medical personnel fought for his life until the very end and did everything possible to save him. Specialists from the federal burn center were called to treat the man, providing him with consultations and using all available medical resources. However, his injuries were severe, with burns covering 90% of his body.
On April 10, a powerful explosion occurred in a pyrotechnics warehouse in the capital of the Republic of North Ossetia. The incident occurred around noon in the city's industrial zone.
The injured were 14 people, including three children.
The explosion caused a partial collapse of the building over an area of about 800 square meters. The subsequent fire spread over 750 square meters and affected a neighboring building materials store, as well as dozens of cars parked nearby.
One of the main versions considered by the authorities is a violation of safety rules when working with open fire or storing pyrotechnics. There have also been reports of the warehouse being used for smuggled or expired fireworks.
A criminal case has been opened. On April 12, the arrests of three suspects in connection with the incident and the storage of counterfeit pyrotechnics were announced.
The rescue operations and the clearing of the debris officially ended on April 11. Several people remain in hospitals in serious condition, for whose lives doctors continue to fight
