The first deputy permanent representative of Russia to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, called “shame and disgrace” statement by Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida regarding the nuclear threat, TASS reported.
“Shame and disgrace“, the diplomat wrote on social network X, commenting on a speech by a Japanese politician to the US Congress in which he expressed concern about the “risks of a new disaster“ related to the use of nuclear weapons .
Meanwhile earlier, Japan's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Mitsuko Shino at a Security Council meeting on Ukraine mentioned the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but chose not to say the US was behind it.
Japanese representatives at the UN often talk about the disaster, but prefer not to say anything about US responsibility, the agency emphasizes. A similar situation arose in the UN Security Council in mid-March. Then Polyanski pointed out that Tokyo is spreading disinformation about some threatening nuclear rhetoric from Moscow, but does not have the courage to directly declare Washington's responsibility for the deaths of civilians in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
