Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had "taught a lesson" of the sworn enemy of the country of Israel, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.

"The punishment for the aggressor, as was the sincere promise of the mighty and wise leader of the Islamic Revolution, has come to pass," Raisi said in a statement published by the presidential office.

Raisi also warned Israel's allies not to launch counterattacks. "We advise the supporters of the occupation regime to appreciate this responsible and proportionate action by the Islamic Republic of Iran,", he added.

Meanwhile, Iran's Foreign Ministry today summoned the ambassadors of Great Britain, France and Germany to question what the ministry said was their "irresponsible position" regarding Tehran's retaliatory strikes against Israel, Reuters reported.

The three European countries condemned Iran's drone and missile attack on Israel, which was in response to the bombing of the Iranian consulate in Syria on April 1.

The director of western Europe at Iran's foreign ministry accused the three countries of a "double standard" because earlier this month they opposed a Russian-drafted UN Security Council statement that would have condemned Israel's attack opposite the Iranian embassy complex in Syria.

"Iran's military actions against the bases of the Zionist regime (Israel) are fully within the right of self-defense provided for in Article 51 of the UN Charter and are in response to a number of crimes, including the recent attack on the compound of the embassy in Syria," the official said.
