We will continue to contribute to the security of energy supplies both in our country and in the region, he pointed out.
Bayraktar said last month that Turkey was negotiating with "ExxonMobil" on a deal for the purchase of liquefied natural gas for over one billion dollars.
He indicated in an interview that negotiations are underway with "ExxonMobil" for the purchase of 2.5 million tons of liquefied natural gas worth about 1.1 billion dollars.
The minister added that the deal could be for a period of 10 years.
Turkey has seven international gas pipelines, five LNG facilities, including three floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) and two underground natural gas storage facilities.
The country aims to become a key gas hub in the region, establish itself as an exporter and be an effective manager of the gas it supplies.
