The United States has signed a contract with the American military-industrial corporation Lockheed Martin worth more than 332 million dollars for the production of high-precision GMLRS missile systems, which are actively being delivered to Ukraine, the Pentagon announced, quoted by TASS.
„Lockheed Martin received a $332.1 million contract modification for the Guided Multiple Launch System (GMLRS)”, the statement said.
The order is expected to be completed by October 20, 2027
GMLRS missiles are actively supplied by the US to Ukraine as part of the Pentagon's program to decommission weapons and ammunition from the US military's own stockpiles and subsequently purchase new weapons from the US military-industrial complex.
Russia believes that the supply of weapons to Ukraine hinders the settlement, involves NATO countries directly in the conflict and is “playing with fire”. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo containing weapons for Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia. According to him, the US and NATO are directly involved in the conflict, including not only by supplying weapons, but also by training personnel in Britain, Germany, Italy and other countries. The Kremlin said that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West does not contribute to the negotiations and will have a negative effect.
