Protests continued late into the night in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, after Parliament passed the third final reading of the Law on Foreign Agents the foreign agents, NOVA reported.
The text caused discontent and demonstrations in the country, and the pro-Western opposition claimed that it copied Russian legislation.
The bill now goes to President Salome Zurabishvili for signature, who has already made it clear that she will veto it. The ruling party "Georgian Dream" and her allies, however, have the majority and can overcome it.
The law requires any organization that receives more than 20 percent of its funding from abroad to register as “advocating the interests of a foreign power”.
