Israeli army forces tied a wounded Palestinian to the hood of military jeep yesterday after he was arrested in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin, Reuters reported, citing BTA.
In a video shared on social media and confirmed by Reuters, Mujahed Azmi is seen – a Palestinian resident of Jenin, on the hood of a jeep that passes two ambulances.
In a statement, the Israeli army said Israeli forces were fired upon and returned fire, wounding a suspect they detained. The soldiers then violated military protocol, the statement said. “The suspect was taken away tied to a vehicle".
The military said that “the behavior of the soldiers in the video during the incident did not correspond to the values" of the Israeli army and the incident will be investigated.
The detainee was handed over to medics for treatment, the military said. The date of the incident was confirmed by an eyewitness interviewed by Reuters.
According to Azmi's family, there was an arrest, he was injured during the action, and when the family called for an ambulance, the soldiers took Mujahed, tied him to the hood of the jeep and drove off.
The violence in the West Bank, which was growing even before the war between Israel and “Hamas” in Gaza, has since escalated. There are frequent military actions against violent groups, there are atrocities by Jewish settlers in Palestinian villages and deadly Palestinian street attacks.

Naama had just started serving in the Israel Defense Forces when she was captured, along with four other female conscripts, in the raid that sparked Israel's war on Gaza.
Hamas killed around 1,200 people in the attack and took over 250 hostages. Israel's response has left Gaza in ruins and killed more than 37,400 people, including 101 in the past 24 hours, according to Palestinian health authorities.
