At least two explosions and air raid sirens have been heard this evening in Kyiv , journalists of France Press reported, BTA reported.
This is happening 10 days after the massive Russian strikes that bloodied the Ukrainian capital.
In “Telegram” Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko announced that Ukrainian air defenses had been activated and a fire had been reported in the southeastern Darnytsky district.
At 22:51 (19:51 GMT) the Ukrainian Air Force reported in “Telegram” that drones are heading towards the capital from the east.
Drones have also been reported from Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
In Kyiv, authorities urged residents to get to the nearest air-raid shelters.
Two air alarms sounded in the capital a few minutes apart, with the last one ending around 20:25 GMT, reports an AFP correspondent.
On July 8, Russian bombings that also hit Ukraine's main pediatric hospital in Kiev killed at least 43 people and sparked a wave of international condemnation.
Ukraine is regularly subject to deadly Russian missile and drone bombings. To be able to defend itself, Kiev is asking its Western allies to provide it with more air defense systems, according to AFP.
