Volodymyr Zelensky on Viktor Orban: This was not a mission for peace - 1

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke out strongly against unilateral actions, similar to those of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, in search of a peaceful solution to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, reported DPA, quoted by BTA.

"We have preserved unity in Europe and we are acting together, which means that Russian President Vladimir Putin has missed his main goal: he has failed to create division in Europe,” Zelensky said at the summit of the European Political Community near the English city Oxford.

"He may try to get close to you or approach some of your partners individually, trying to tempt you or put pressure on you, blackmail you so that one of you betrays the others, weakening our unity," he added.

"If someone wants to make several trips to the war capital to speak and maybe promise something against our common interests or at the expense of Ukraine or other countries, why should we consider such a person," the Ukrainian president.

Earlier this month, Orbán visited Moscow for talks with Putin without consulting Brussels or Kiev about his visit. According to his own statements, the Hungarian prime minister wanted to explore the options for ending the war in Ukraine, which began after the invasion of Russian forces in the country in February 2022, DPA notes.

Before visiting Moscow, Orban was also in Kiev. He later traveled to the Chinese capital, Beijing, and then to the United States to meet with presidential candidate Donald Trump.

His actions during his visits, which he himself called a "mission for peace", were sharply criticized in the countries of the European Union and NATO, notes DPA.
