The high-ranking representative of the Palestinian group "Hamas" Sami Abu Zuhri said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech to the US Congress shows that he does not want to conclude a ceasefire agreement, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
Netanyahu addressed the US Congress in a record fourth speech by a foreign leader to a joint session of the Senate and House of Representatives. He spoke of the need to create a security alliance in the Middle East to counter Iran.
"Netanyahu's speech was full of lies and it will not be able to cover up the failure and defeat of the resistance to cover up the crimes of the genocidal war his army is waging against the people of Gaza,'' Abu Zuhri said in an interview .
He added that any alliance with Israel would be "treason to the blood of the martyrs".
Netanyahu also said that Israel does not seek to resettle Gaza and that after the war with the fighters of "Hamas" the enclave should be led by Palestinians who do not seek to destroy Israel.
