The opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris has been sharply criticized by the French Catholic Church, reported DPA, quoted by BTA.
„Unfortunately, the ceremony included scenes of mockery and mockery of Christianity, which we deeply regret”, the French bishops said in a statement.
The church did not give details, but one scene in particular caught the attention of the faithful. It is a recreation of Leonardo da Vinci's famous painting "The Last Supper", but with representatives of the LGBT community.
„We thank the members of other religious denominations who expressed their solidarity with us. This morning we are thinking of all Christians on all continents who have been hurt by the excesses and provocations of certain scenes," the French bishops said.
