Venezuelan's opposition announced that it had won last night's presidential election in the country, thus entering a clash with the government, which earlier declared President Nicolas Maduro the winner, the Associated Press reported, citing from BTA.
"Venezuelan people and the whole world know what happened,", Edmundo Gonzalez said in his first speech after the results were announced.
Opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, who was with Gonzalez, said his victory was "crushing".
Machado said the opposition has voting results in about 40 percent of polling stations across the country and expects to receive more.
The National Electoral Office, which is controlled by Maduro loyalists, has not yet released the results from the country's 30,000 polling stations, AP said.
