The Ukrainian city of Odesa and region came under missile and drone attack in the early hours after midnight, local channels in the "Telegram" application reported, BTA reported.
An air alert was announced at 01:20 a.m. Loud explosions were heard in and around the city for nearly an hour.
All citizens must remain in shelters until the alarm is lifted, regional authorities warn.
Bulgarians in Odesa region number over 150,000 people and are the third most numerous according to the official census in Ukraine in 2001. About 50-60 thousand Bulgarians live in the city of Odesa itself. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in the Bolgrad, Izmail and Belgorodnist regions.
