The former president of United States Donald Trump, candidate for president of the Republican Party, agreed with TV "Fox News" for pre-election televised debates in her studio with the current vice president of the country, Kamala Harris, his rival for the post from the Democratic Party, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.
The agency referred to a post by Trump himself on his social platform "Truth Social".
"If for some reason Kamala is unwilling or unable to debate on that date, I have agreed with "Fox News" let's have a big event at City Hall on this very fourth of September,'' Trump wrote in the post. The headquarters of "Fox News" is in New York.
Last night, Harris secured the Democratic Party nomination by receiving the required number of votes from delegates at the national party convention in online voting ahead of the forum. Trump has already participated in pre-election televised debates - with US President Joe Biden, on June 27 at the CNN studio in Atlanta, Georgia. Biden's disastrous performance then was the main reason he withdrew his candidacy, Reuters recalls.
