Venezuela's Attorney General, Tarek Saab announced yesterday that the country's prosecutor's office is starting a criminal prosecution against opposition leaders Maria Corina Machado and Edmundo Gonzalez, who are disputing the results of the July 28 elections, Reuters reported, as quoted by BTA.
Saab said the investigation was about "inciting the police and military to disobey the law".
Earlier yesterday, opposition leaders circulated a letter calling on security forces to "stand with the people" and to respect the results of the elections that they believe they won.
