Advisor to the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky – Mykhailo Podolyak, said that Russia should be forced to participate in a summit on Ukraine, as it will not do so of its own free will, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
For Ukrainian national television, Podoliak said one of the methods of coercion is battlefield action, referring to the unprecedented Ukrainian cross-border operation in Russia's Kursk region.
"Ordinary appeals to Russia do not yield results, only a set of means of coercion work”, Podoliak said.
The adviser to the Ukrainian president added that with its actions in the border regions of Russia, Ukraine is solving the key issue of its own security.
"This is the destruction of the military infrastructure and the formation of the so-called sanitary zones so that Russia cannot use there equipment that strikes deep into the territory of Ukraine," he said.
A week after Ukrainian forces began their incursion into the Kursk region, Ukraine said it controlled 74 Russian villages and was continuing its advance.
