Tens of thousands of people demonstrated late today in Tel Aviv demanding a deal to end the fire in the Gaza Strip after the Israeli army announced that it had found the bodies of six of the Israeli hostages being held in Gaza, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
Many demonstrators waved Israeli flags, and six coffins were placed on stage in memory of the dead hostages.
In addition, demonstrators blocked a central thoroughfare in Tel Aviv.
There were also protests in other Israeli cities.
The demonstrators called on the government to quickly reach a ceasefire deal in the Gaza Strip and guarantee the release of the remaining 101 people who are being held hostage in Gaza.
Indirect ceasefire negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Islamist movement "Hamas", in which Egypt, the US and Qatar are mediators, have been stalling for a month, DPA notes.
