Thunderstorms and heavy rain warnings remain in force for many parts of the United Kingdom today, BNR reported.
Much of England, east Wales and southern Scotland saw severe thunderstorms on Sunday.
The weather service said that while not as many storms were expected, there was a chance of flooding and traffic problems on Monday. An additional danger for southern and central England is the possibility of lightning and hail.
However, the situation changes very quickly and the advice is to regularly follow the weather bulletins so that people are aware of where problems may arise.
A nice sunny day is expected in the rest of the UK, albeit with quite a lot of humidity.
Cyprus is starting to replace cables, electrical equipment and other faulty equipment that can cause fires.
Due to continued high temperatures and drought, a permanent “red code” for the risk of forest fires.
The Cyprus Electricity Company has to replace problematic electrical equipment in seven forest areas identified as the most dangerous and priority. The first of them should be ready in December this year, and the whole process will be completed by July next year.
This was announced after a broad meeting of the competent authorities on these issues.
Replacing dangerous equipment is one of the preventive actions to reduce the incidence of fires. The Eco-Ministry has been pushing for it since last year's summer season, when faulty cables and substations set fire to a number of places in the mountainous regions.
In August of this year, as a result of defects in electrical equipment, 3 forest fires and 7 in rural areas were registered.
The electricity company will use a special technique for monitoring and maintaining the power lines in the forested and Polish territories.
The Forestry Department warned that due to the weather conditions, the risk of forest fires starting and spreading remains very high.
