The European Commission does not yet consider any impact on the EU from the problems that arose with the extraction of oil in Libya and with the oil supplies from "Lukoil" restricted by sanctions from Ukraine; for Hungary and Slovakia. This was stated by a spokesperson of the EC at a press conference in response to questions put to him, BTA reports.
We have not noticed a decrease in the quantities of oil supplied by "Lukoil" to Hungary after the introduction of the sanctions (by Kiev), the spokesperson explained. According to him, Budapest and Bratislava have not yet answered all the questions of the Commission related to the request of the two capitals that the European institutions mediate for the lifting of the Ukrainian sanctions for the supplies of the "Druzhba" oil pipeline. We need to have a common understanding of the problem to look for possible solutions, the spokesman added.
There is no immediate impact on the EU from the difficulties with oil production in Libya, the spokesman pointed out. He clarified that the commission is in contact with the EU countries on this matter.
