German Foreign Minister Analena Berbock will visit the Middle East later this week for talks with regional leaders regarding the prospects for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of the Israeli hostages, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
Berbock will hold talks with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud in Riyadh tomorrow before heading to Jordan for talks with Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Minister Ayman al-Safadi in Amman.
Then on Friday, Berbok will meet with Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz and Defense Minister Yoav Galant before traveling to the West Bank city of Ramallah, where he will hold talks with Palestinian officials.
The two-day visit is Berbok's ninth trip to Israel and eleventh in the Middle East since the October 7 attacks by the Palestinian Islamist movement "Hamas" caused the war in Gaza.
