The West's attempts to Ukrainianize the G-20 agenda have not been successful, Sergey Lavrov said - 1

„The West's attempts to “Ukrainize“ the agenda of the G-20 are failing," said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, reports "Izvestia", as quoted by Focus.

„Attempts to Ukrainianize the G-20 agenda continue, but they are not successful. Such an approach, in which seemingly irreconcilable positions can still be brought together in some way, was implemented in the G-20. It would be useful to use this example in other structures, especially in the UN bodies, in the Security Council,” commented Lavrov.

He emphasized that “Moscow does not give up cooperation with the West, for which it has a platform within the UN. It is necessary to seek a balance of interests, as is done within the framework of the G-20,” added Lavrov.

The Russian minister noted that “at the UN, key positions in the organization's secretariat are occupied by representatives of the NATO countries. At the same time, the situation is equal in the G-20 and this balance of power should be extended to the UN as well.“
