Chinese Premier Li Qiang said he hoped Japan would went his part of the way and to keep bilateral relations with China in the right direction, state media reported, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

During talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba yesterday on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) conference, Li also said he hoped China and Japan could continuously strengthen dialogue and cooperation, Xinhua reported.

Li noted that the two countries should jointly protect the stability and smooth operation of industrial and supply chains and the global free trade system.

Li made the comments after the East Asian leaders' meetings held in Vientiane, Laos, Xinhua reported.

Ishiba said his country is ready to work with China to strengthen high-level exchanges, intensify dialogue and communication at all levels, and resolve outstanding issues through consultation.
