Corporal Christopher Gill , who instructed Ukrainian troops in the United Kingdom, died during an exercise in Wales, the BBC reported.

Gill is noted to have served with the 4th Battalion Ranger Regiment, a special forces formation as part of the British Army. The army press office said his death was not related to the performance of professional duties, but the police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Gil began military service in 2011. He was later deployed to Afghanistan to train local military personnel. Gill also served in Belize, the United States, Kenya and Morocco. The BBC indicated that he had volunteered to train Ukrainian military personnel who had arrived in the UK.
