In Saudi Arabia started the construction of the largest building in the world - the Mukaab skyscraper, which will have a unique cube shape and will be located in the northwestern part of Riyadh, reports Dezeen, quoted by Focus.
The building is now officially under construction, with excavation currently underway. According to New Murabba Development Company, these works are 86% complete.
Muqaab will be a super-tall skyscraper with 400-meter ribs and a total height of more than 300 meters, making it the tallest building in Riyadh. The interior of the cube will include a giant atrium with a spiral tower around which will be located shops, cultural and tourist facilities with a total area of two million square meters.
„The cube will be covered with a facade of triangular shapes inspired by the modern Najdi architectural style. Completed, Mukaab will take center stage in the New Muraba area - the future center of the Saudi capital,” note from Dezeen.
The building will have over 100,000 homes, 980,000 square meters of commercial space, 1.4 million square meters of offices, as well as hotels, cultural centers, a university, a theater and a museum. The project, part of the "Vision 2030" initiative, is financed by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund and is expected to be completed before 2030.
