The newly elected US President Donald Trump will fail in his second term in resolving the Palestinian issue, said Houthi leader Abdel Malik al-Houthi, quoted by Agence France-Presse and BTA.
"Trump failed in the project for the 'deal of the century' during his first term, 'he will fail this time too'," the rebel leader stressed in a televised speech. He described the new US president as "arrogant and tyrannical".
US presidents "argue to determine which of them does the most favors to the Israeli enemy", the Houthi leader added. "Trump himself during his previous term" worked for "recognition of all of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and moved the US embassy there," he reminded.
Israel considers all of Jerusalem its "united and indivisible" capital, although according to the UN the annexation of East Jerusalem is illegal, AFP recalls. During Trump's previous term, however, several countries moved their embassies from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, following the example of the US.
