The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has announced that his country and Iran are starting a new stage in their cooperation after the two countries signed new agreements. Maduro stressed that this step is part of efforts to build a "powerful union" against the United States, broadcasts BTA.
The meeting with Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh is a basis for deepening bilateral relations in various fields, including economy and technology.
Maduro did not reveal details about the signed agreements, but emphasized their importance in strengthening cooperation between the two nations and strengthening their positions against Western hegemony, in particular against the United States.

According to President Maduro, the main goal of the alliance with Iran is to oppose "hegemonism", "imperialism" and "colonialism", focusing on overcoming Western sanctions. Maduro noted that the imposed sanctions not only failed to undermine the spirit of Venezuela and Iran, but on the contrary, only strengthened the determination of both countries to continue their joint work.
