Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has left for the United Arab Emirates (UAE), reported today the state news agency of Saudi Arabia, quoted by Reuters. This is the first visit of the Saudi leader to the UAE in the last three years.
The prince's visit comes just days before the key OPEC+ meeting scheduled for December 5. Although the reason for the visit has not been officially announced, analysts expect the talks could cover energy-related issues as well as broader regional and economic topics.
Saudi Arabia and the UAE are longtime allies in the region, but their relationship is not without tension. Despite their stable partnership within OPEC+, economic rivalry and differences in political approaches sometimes lead to disagreements.
The prince's visit to the UAE could be important for strengthening bilateral relations and agreeing positions ahead of the upcoming OPEC+ discussions.
