Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Yuriy Ambrazevych said that the final agreements on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine must take into account the interests of his country, BTA reports.
According to him, Belarus, as a neighbor of Ukraine, has a particularly great interest in a quick and peaceful resolution of the conflict, since the situation on its southern borders is very complicated. He noted that accusations of Belarus' complicity in aggression seem absurd.
A place for Belarus at the peace table
Ambrazevych stressed that his country has taken peacemaking steps since the beginning of the conflict to prevent the escalation of violence. He stressed that Belarus not only insists on a place for peace talks, but will also insist on guarantees for its own security. He also stressed that the final agreements must also take into account the interests of Belarus as a directly affected party.
Belarus' strategy for preventing escalation
Ambrazevic also spoke about the importance of proposing measures that can prevent the escalation of the conflict and ensure stability in the region, emphasizing Belarus' commitment to peacekeeping.
