Yesterday, two cruise missiles fired from Crimea were launched in Belgorod-Dniester district, Odessa region. According to reports on local Telegram channels, an airstrike alert was issued at 09:23. Local authorities have urged all citizens to take shelter in bomb shelters and wait for a call-off signal.
Odessa region has a significant Bulgarian population, which according to the last census in 2001 amounted to over 150,000 people. Bulgarians in the region are the third largest ethnic group in the region. The city of Odessa itself is home to between 50,000 and 60,000 Bulgarians, and the largest compact groups of Bulgarian population are located in the Bolgrad, Izmail and Belgorod-Dniester regions, BTA reports.
