At least 66 Palestinians were killed in 30 Israeli military attacks on the Gaza Strip on Saturday, Al Jazeera reported, citing medical and rescue services in Gaza.

As the TV channel points out, citing data from doctors and rescuers, many children are among the victims of the attacks.

The Israeli army announced this morning that it had intercepted a rocket fired from Yemen, which triggered air raid sirens in northern Israel, Agence France-Presse reported, quoted by BTA.

In a post on the "Telegram" platform The military said the missile was intercepted before it entered Israeli territory.

On Friday, the Israeli military said it had shot down a missile and a drone, also launched from Yemen. The Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen claimed responsibility for the launch.

Last week, the Houthis said they had fired two missiles, one at Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv and the other at a power plant south of Jerusalem. Israel later said it had responded to repeated attacks by the rebels, carrying out several strikes in Yemen, AFP recalls.

Earlier, a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip last night damaged the Erez crossing, through which humanitarian aid is delivered to the enclave, the Israeli army press service reported.

The strike caused damage to the border crossing and a nearby terminal for trucks carrying humanitarian aid.

“We emphasize that since the beginning of December 2024, more than 1,200 trucks carrying humanitarian aid have entered the Gaza Strip through the Erez crossing...: food, water, medicine and shelter equipment“, the statement said.

It stressed that the Israeli army, despite this incident, “will continue to act in accordance with international law to ensure and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip".
