The head of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, said that the alliance is taking over part of the responsibility for coordinating military aid to Ukraine, which was previously organized by the United States. This was reported by Ukrinform, referring to his statement at a meeting of the NATO Military Committee in Brussels.
As a result of the framework agreement reached in Washington, some mechanisms that were previously organized by the United States are now being transferred under the control of the alliance.
The admiral explained that these changes are aimed at creating permanent assistance mechanisms that will guarantee stability for Ukraine, regardless of political changes. He believes that for senior Ukrainian commanders, the war does not depend on events in Western capitals, which is why constant assistance is crucial for the Ukrainian armed forces.
Bauer stressed that NATO is committed to providing Ukraine with everything the country needs to continue its fight against Russian aggression.
