Most Turks believe that the situation related to the economy in their country is getting worse. This is according to data from a survey conducted by the ASAL sociological agency, BTA reported.

In response to a question of the participants in the survey about their opinion on the situation related to the Turkish economy, 60.5 percent of the respondents indicated that the situation is getting worse. According to 23.3 percent of the respondents, the situation is improving, and 16.2 did not answer.

When asked whether the increase in the minimum wage, which became 22,104 Turkish liras (net or 1,165 leva) from the beginning of 2025, is sufficient, 64.7 percent of people answered “no”. 18.2 percent said “yes”, and 17.1 percent did not answer.

In response to the question whether the increase in the minimum pension in 2025 by 15.75 percent is sufficient, after which the lowest pension amounts to 14,469 Turkish liras (net or 761 leva), most respondents - 71.6 percent, gave a negative answer. Only 13.5 percent said that the increase was satisfactory, and 14.9 percent did not answer.
