Issues related to Iran, Palestine, and Ukraine were the main topics of the meeting of US President's special envoy Stephen Witkoff with diplomats from the UN Security Council.

This was told to journalists by Pakistan's permanent representative to the world organization Asim Iftikhar Ahmad.

"We discussed a lot of things", he said. „We discussed three main issues in which Witkoff plays his role, assigned to him by President Trump – Palestine, Iran and Ukraine.

At the same time, as Ahmad noted, other topics were also raised at the event.

Witkoff's closed-door meeting with diplomats was held on Wednesday at the US Permanent Mission, located across from the UN headquarters in New York, and lasted about an hour and a half.

The US is insisting that countries license Starlink to secure better terms in trade negotiations with the White House, the Washington Post reported, citing its sources.

According to their information, Washington has not directly set the condition for using Starlink to reduce tariffs. However, officials from various countries have made concessions to the company to gain an advantage in future trade negotiations.

“This is unlikely to be an overt element of trade talks with the US, but the Indian side sees it as a way to sway the Americans into a deal“, an Indian source said.

According to the publication, at least two countries have openly discussed or taken steps to license Starlink as a means of circumventing US tariffs. Similar ideas have also been floated by Djibouti, India, Cambodia, Lesotho, Mali, Turkey, South Africa and others.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio has signed at least two internal letters to US diplomats around the world urging them to promote the country's satellite services, including Starlink, to combat competitors, the sources said.
