The Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Karim Khan intended to request arrest warrants for Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir before he goes on administrative leave, The Wall Street Journal reports, citing its sources.

According to their information, this is related to Smotrich and Ben-Gvir's involvement in the expansion of Jewish settlements in the West Bank. A decision has not yet been made whether work on the request for the warrants will continue during Khan's administrative leave.

In November 2024 The ICC has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Palestine.

In mid-May 2025, the ICC announced that Khan would take administrative leave and would not work while they investigate allegations of sexual harassment against him.
