US special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg said that Russian President Vladimir Putin is "partly" right that NATO is waging a proxy war with Russia.
„He believes that this is currently a proxy war for NATO and, frankly, in some ways it is. Look at what European countries have done in terms of support for Ukraine. Putin clearly sees this“, Kellogg said in an interview with Fox News, commenting on Germany's possible decision to begin delivering long-range Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine.
Kellogg expressed confidence that the conflict in Ukraine will end peacefully and noted that hard work is being done on the issue.
“Yes, I am confident“, he answered a television question when asked if he thought the conflict in Ukraine would ultimately be resolved.
“If anyone can do it, it's US President Donald Trump. Everyone is working very hard to make that happen“, the special envoy assured.
